Meet Dr. Westin Kirk

My Chiropractic Journey

Dr. Westin Kirk’s fascination with chiropractic care began in his teenage years as a dedicated athlete. He experienced firsthand the physical demands and challenges of competitive sports, including persistent knee pain that conventional doctors dismissed as growing pains. Seeking an alternative solution, he visited a local chiropractor in Marshall, MN, where—after just 15 minutes of treatment—his pain subsided. However, further imaging revealed a more serious condition: osteochondritis dissecans, requiring surgery and extensive rehabilitation.

This transformative experience deepened his appreciation for compassionate healthcare and ignited his passion for helping others overcome physical challenges. Determined to make a difference, Dr. Westin pursued a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Minnesota-Mankato, ultimately choosing chiropractic as his profession due to his positive early experiences with hands-on healing.

Dr. Westin earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. His training included impactful internships at Augsburg University and the Human Performance Center, where he refined his skills in rehabilitation, musculoskeletal health, and sports performance. Reflecting on his approach, he shares:

My greatest satisfaction as a healthcare provider comes from seeing patients regain the ability to do what they love—whether it’s setting new personal records or simply enjoying life, pain-free.”

Treatment Approach

At Peak Performance Chiropractic Center, Dr. Westin is committed to personalized, comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Rather than just addressing symptoms, he embraces a holistic approach that considers the biological, psychological, and social factors influencing health and well-being.

His treatments integrate a combination of:
Chiropractic adjustments – Restoring joint mobility and function.
Acupuncture/Dry Needling – Reducing muscle tension and enhancing recovery.
Active Resistance Training – Strengthening movement patterns for long-term resilience.

By treating the person as a whole, Dr. Westin empowers his patients to return to their favorite activities, pain-free, and enjoy a higher quality of life. His goal is to not only provide relief but to equip patients with the tools to sustain long-term health and performance.

Life Outside the Clinic

Dr. Westin believes in staying active and continually learning. He enjoys weightlifting, basketball, and pickleball, blending movement and competition into his daily routine. A lifelong learner, he has a passion for reading—whether it's diving into research papers or getting lost in a classic novel.

Beyond sports and books, he loves playing chess, experimenting with new recipes, and hiking, making the most of time spent outdoors. Most importantly, he cherishes quality moments with his family and friends.

One of Dr. Westin’s favorite quotes, which guides both his life and practice, is:

“The greatest medicine of all is teaching people how not to need it.” – Hippocrates
